MCP in Plain Language
MCP in Plain Language
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a USB port for agents. Instead of hard-coding one API per app, you plug in servers that expose tools (files, databases, browsers, tickets) with the same call shape.
You do not need to implement a server today. You need to explain it so a non-engineer teammate could choose whether to connect one.
Learning outcomes
- Explain MCP as a standard socket, not a model
- List three example servers in human language
- Name one trust question before connecting a server
